The Behaviour Report
It is still running, and it still answers to the same objective the Foundation was founded on.
Thinking, Done In Public
The founding document asks the Foundation to develop thinking skills, to capture knowledge rather than lose it, and to solicit the ideas of established figures for the benefit of the young. A publication does all three at once. It forces the thinking to be written down, it leaves a record somebody can come back to years later, and it puts the argument where a young person can read it without paying anybody for the privilege.
That is why the Foundation founded BehaviourReport.com rather than waiting for a programme budget. The work of teaching people to think had to start somewhere, and the cheapest place to start was on a page.
Analysis, Not Commentary
The publication reads behaviour rather than reporting events. It takes leaders, institutions, markets and whole nations and asks the same question of each of them: what is actually driving this, and what does the pattern say about what comes next. The frameworks it works from are old ones, Machiavelli among them, applied to the ground its readers are standing on rather than to a European century nobody here lives in.
That method was tested early. The publication read the Zimbabwean executive as a pattern rather than a personality, and said in public what that pattern pointed to before the change of leadership in 2017 arrived. Saying it in public in Zimbabwe at that time carried a cost, and the platform was watched for it. It kept publishing.
Six Standing Sections
The publication is organised around six sections that between them cover what moves a society. Behaviour looks at why people act against their own interest. Signal reads what is coming before it is announced. Power examines who holds it, how they keep it and what it costs them. Capital follows the money and the decisions it distorts. Culture takes the ordinary life underneath all of it seriously. Territory deals with the ground itself, the borders, the trade and the land.
More than five hundred articles have been published across them, and the archive stays open. Nothing behind a subscription, nothing held back for a paying tier.
The Publication Is Open
The Behaviour Report is free to read and it is written for anybody prepared to think about what is actually happening rather than what is being announced. If you want to write for it, or you have a piece of analysis the Foundation should see, the same address reaches us.
