Who Stands Behind It

Sponsorship · Partnership · Institutional support

The work is free to the people who take part because somebody else carries the cost.

Why there are sponsors at all

Somebody Pays For Free

Nothing the Foundation runs is charged to the person taking part. The three instruments are free to take, the guided programme is free to the person who applies, the hub sessions are free to attend and the workbooks and books are given rather than sold. That is a deliberate position, and it only holds because the cost sits somewhere else.

It sits with the organisations on this page. They pay for it in different currencies - money, media, infrastructure, movement, expertise and academic standing - and between them they are the reason a young person in Mutare or Gaborone can take an instrument tonight and pay nothing for it.

The standing partners

Sponsors And Partners

These are the organisations carrying the Foundation at the moment, and what each of them carries.

Founding sponsor

Cabanga Africa Group

The pan-African business media house founded by the Foundation's own founder, and the house that carries the Foundation. Cabanga Africa Group underwrites the running of the programmes, gives the work its editorial reach across the continent, and puts the Foundation in front of the business readership it needs to reach the young people it is built for.

Media partner

The Cabanga Magazines

Twelve regional editions in circulation across twenty-four countries, among them Cabanga, Moakanyi, Fikiria, Kufunga, Ganizo and Ironu. The network carries the Foundation's work into the markets it serves, opens its pages to the young people coming through the programmes, and makes the case for thinking before acting to a readership that decides things for a living.

Infrastructure partner

Cabanga Platforms

The digital platform arm that builds and holds the Foundation's infrastructure: this website, the three instruments, the delivery of every result and the systems behind the intakes. The instruments are free to take because the platform carrying them is provided rather than bought.

Logistics partner

SITT Logistics

Our logistics partner. Programmes do not run on ideas alone - people, materials, books and equipment have to get to where an intake is being held, across borders more often than not. SITT Logistics moves what the Foundation needs moved.

Advisory partner

Aptiva Consulting

Our consulting partner, working alongside the Foundation on the professional side of the work: the structure of the programmes, the discipline of how they are run, and the advisory capacity that a young business needs once the thinking is done and the building starts.

Academic partner

Manicaland State University

Our academic partner in Zimbabwe. The relationship puts the Foundation's instruments and programmes alongside formal study, gives students a route into the hubs and the mentoring, and holds the work to an academic standard rather than leaving it to sit on assertion.

Where the money goes

What Sponsorship Actually Buys

An intake is a room, a guide, a set of workbooks and a copy of the book for every person in it, run over a fixed number of weeks. Sponsorship pays for that room and everything that has to be in it, and for the guides who have come through the programme and now run the next one.

It also pays for the instruments. The FBI Virus Audit, the Dzungu Index and the Sales Fit Audit are free to take and always will be, and somebody has to carry the infrastructure that delivers a result to a person who has paid nothing. A sponsor is not buying visibility on a banner. A sponsor is buying the seats.

An open invitation

There Is Room For You

The Foundation is open to new sponsors and partners. The invitation stands.

Sponsorship is often not money. A venue, a print run, transport, equipment, professional hours, a place for an intake to sit. Tell us what you have and we will tell you what it would carry.
