The framework

The Kufunga Diagnostic And Development System

A framework for assessment, diagnosis, intervention and measurable development.

Kufunga Foundation helps individuals and institutions understand what is affecting human judgment, behaviour and performance before attempting to correct the visible symptoms.

The central proposition is straightforward. Many personal, family, workplace and institutional problems are treated at the level at which they appear. Poor performance is treated as a performance problem. Conflict is treated as a conflict problem. Weak sales are treated as a sales problem. Repeated mistakes are treated as competence problems. Kufunga begins further upstream, by asking what is driving the person, how that person is making and executing decisions, and whether the person is appropriately fitted to the work being demanded of them.

The Foundation therefore uses a collection of diagnostic instruments followed, where necessary, by structured interventions. The assessment identifies the condition. The intervention is the product. The reassessment demonstrates whether anything changed.

The diagnostic infrastructure

Three Instruments, Three Questions

Each instrument answers a different question about the same person, and none of them is asked to do the work of another.

Instrument one · Internal driver diagnostic

The FBI Virus Audit

How far has this gone, and which parts of your life has it reached?

The FBI Virus Audit asks the first and most fundamental question: what is driving the person?

Take the FBI Virus Audit
Instrument two · Decision quality and execution diagnostic

The Dzungu Index

How far ahead of your thinking did you act?

The Dzungu Index asks the second question: how is the person thinking before acting?

Take the Dzungu Index
Instrument three · Functional fit diagnostic

The Sales Fit Audit

Is this person appropriately fitted to this particular commercial function?

The Sales Fit Audit asks a narrower third question, and only where a commercial role is the thing under examination.

Each instrument is set out in full, with what it reads and where it applies, on the instruments page.

The Kufunga sequence

Diagnosis Precedes Prescription

For an individual, the logical order begins by establishing what may be driving the person. Kufunga then examines how that person translates thought into action. Where a particular occupational or commercial role is under consideration, the appropriate fit instrument is applied last.

Step one

Internal Condition

What may be driving the person, established through the FBI Virus Audit.

Step two

Decision Behaviour

How that person turns thought into action, measured by the Dzungu Index.

Step three

Functional Fit

Whether they are fitted to the role in question, where a commercial role is being considered.

This distinction matters. Kufunga should not tell somebody to become a better salesperson while ignoring a severe underlying pattern that may be damaging much more than their selling. Equally, somebody should not be told they have a psychological or behavioural problem merely because they are poorly fitted to commission sales.

What Kufunga actually sells

An Engagement, Not A Test

Kufunga should not fundamentally sell an FBI test, a Dzungu test and a Sales Fit test. Those are instruments. The commercial and developmental offering is a Kufunga Diagnostic and Development Engagement, and it runs in five phases.

Phase one

Assessment

The relevant instruments are administered according to the individual, family, team or institution being examined. Which instruments apply is a scoping decision, not a fixed package.

Phase two

Interpretation

Results are considered together rather than as isolated numbers. The question is not what each score says on its own, but what pattern the instruments are collectively showing.

Phase three

Diagnosis

Kufunga separates the presenting problem from the underlying issue. Apparent underperformance may be decision indiscipline, role misfit, unresolved fear, bitterness and insecurity, or a combination of them.

Phase four

Intervention

The appropriate response is prescribed. The FBI framework moves into the guided programme, the Dzungu framework into Dedzungurization, and Sales Fit into development, coaching, recruitment or role placement.

Phase five

Reassessment

After the intervention the relevant instrument is administered again, so that Kufunga can establish whether behaviour has actually changed rather than assuming that it has.

The invoice is not principally for the questions. It is for assessment, interpretation, intervention and measurable development.

Core positioning

The Instruments Are The Infrastructure

The three tools are Kufunga's diagnostic infrastructure. They are not the Foundation's end products. They give Kufunga the evidence from which it can prescribe and deliver the actual development work.

Three instrument sheets on the left feed into a single reading on the right, where the band, the meter and the written prescription sit together, and a guide stands at the board working from it.
